Chimpanzee Trekking
Uganda is one of very few places that you can see the chimpanzees in their natural environment. There are shorter treks spending an hour with the chimps, or all day treks where you are embedded with them.
Kibale National Park is one of the better known locations for chimpanzee trekking..
Shoebill Stork
One of the rarest birds in the world. This bizarre looking Shoebill Stork can be found in a few locations in Uganda.
This photo was taken in Mabamba Wetland where we ventured with a local guide in a boat, to see this magnificent specimen catching a fish and stalking in its swampy environment.
Barbet
This little bird is difficult to see as it usually moves through the upper canopy of trees in its quest for food.
This barbet was one of a pair observed in the Botanic Gardens in Entebbe.
Touraco
A bird of the forest that may be difficult to spot even though it is brightly coloured. The touraco tends to be hidden amongst the foliage as it seeks out its favourite fruits
Can be found in several locations, this one was seen in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
